Finance Board
The Finance Board is the lay-leadership body that is required by the Code of Canon Law of the Roman Catholic church. It's transactions are governed by the "The Code", Archdiocesan policy, and state corporate law. This body oversees the Financial transactions of the parish and advises the Pastor in his duty as chief Administrator of the parish finances and property.
The Board meets quarterly to review the parish finances and approves the parish half-year and yearly reports prepared for the Office of Finance of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. It is responsible, along with the Pastor, to present a financial report of the state of the parish at least once a year. It assists the Pastor and Parish accountant in preparing the yearly budget for submission to RCAN.
Two principal members of the Board are the two Lay Trustees who are required to sign off on the financial documents submitted to RCAN.
